dwell on = to think/talk about something bad/unpleasant

undergrowth= bushes and plants that grow round bigger tree

malarkey = meaningless talk, nonsense

mope = to feel unhappy and not try to become cheerful again

contented = happy and satisfied

heartfelt = sincerely, deeply felt

scour = search thoroughly

lustrous = brilliant splendour

dilapidated = old and in very bad condition

minimalist = simple, modest, discreet

aptitude = a natural ability or skill at something

rampant = commonly increasing
